We believe in the power of nourishment. Both in the literal sense of food security and in the nuanced understanding that we all need certain ‘nutritional elements’ to help support us in our work to become safe and whole and as hearty as we can be. There is nothing more important than our communities and our families being well fed. We cannot ask individuals to rise up and excel in any way if the basic need for food and water has not been met.
Hope’s Harvest represents our desire to help meet people in their need to be nourished so that they may focus on the tasks at hand to cultivate and grow their lives and their contributions to the world without fear of how they will find their next meal.

We know there are a lot of issues in the world right now. We cannot make much of a dent in many of them, but there is a specific population that has had absolutely nothing to do with the creation of the issues we face and yet is primarily bearing the brunt of those same issues. Children are the innocent victims of our destruction and neglect and also, in our humble opinion, the only possible solutions to them. As such, we at The Grateful Gardener, believe there is no more important population than the next generation. Ava’s Butterfly Garden is the manifestation of our hope to make an impact on restoring safety, nourishment, love, joy, peace and wonder to our children in need.

We want for the world, or our small corner of it, to know the power of having a warm, safe place to lay their heads. Treehouses represent an enviable domain that can be imagined and customized to the extent of the creativity of the inhabitant. We have known the cruel fragility of life that, in an instant, can change the landscape of where or how one lives. We cannot end homelessness, but we would like to try to help find solutions to housing and safety needs for those trying to

Though the need may not be as acute, we believe in the power of art, creativity, music and play to enhance the quality of life. Please let us know if there is a desire to engage in the arts that cannot be afforded or sustained and we will review our ability to assist or support it.
Counseling is, unfortunately, a luxury in the world today. However, all of us, at some point or another, will need a little support, direction and tending as we navigate the mental, emotional or relational droughts or storms that threaten the gardens of our lives.
We, at The Grateful Gardener, believe in the power of counseling and its ability to help guide and support us as we cultivate healthy lives, relationships and families that can bloom.
